A study published in the journal Sleep Health found that habitual nappers had larger brain volumes. Researchers examined data from 35,000 participants and found that while brains shrink as we age, those who napped regularly offset this tendency by up to 6.5 years.
Some companies, like Ben and Jerry’s, Nike, and Google have embraced midday nap culture and allow employees to take a siesta. Famous nappers include Leonardo da Vinci, Stephen King, and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
