Storm Closures (Feb 14)

Check a full list of school closures in the K-12 NLESD system at OZFM.com/schoolinfo. All schools in the St. John’s Metro Region are closed for the day.

• Due to adverse weather conditions, Memorial University’s St. John’s, Marine Institute and Signal Hill campuses, including the Childcare Centre, are closed for the day for all faculty, staff and students.
• CNA campus closures – St. John’s metro (all day), Bonavista (all day), Carbonear (all day), Placentia (all day), Gander (all day), Burin (all day), Clarenville (all day), Grand Falls-Windsor (closed for the morning)
• Keyin College St Johns campus is closed for the day. All classes will move online.
• Due to weather, Metrobus and Go Bus service will not be operating today.
• NL Health Services advises that all Eastern-Urban and Eastern-Rural zone community health sites and administrative buildings that do not provide a 24-hour service, with the exception of the dialysis treatment centres located at Mount Pearl Square and Coish Place in Clarenville, will be closed today.
• The Avalon Mall is closed all day.
• All City of St. John’s facilities are closed for the day. This includes City Hall and recreation facilities. The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will remain open, except for residential drop off.
• Waste and recycling collection in St. John’s and Mount Pearl have been postponed. In St. John’s, waste and recycling collection for areas 3A and 3B is postponed, with an update Wednesday afternoon. Mount Pearl waste and recycling collection will take place on Friday.
• Flight cancellations are being reported at St. John’s International Airport

• Provincial plow tracker
• Provincial Courts in St. John’s, Harbour Grace, Clarenville, and Gander are closed for the day, while the Provincial Court in Grand Falls-Windsor is closed for the morning with an update to come
• NLC locations in the metro area, Carbonear, Bay Roberts, Marystown, and Placentia are closed for the day
• NL Supreme Courts in St. John’s, Gander, and Grand Bank are closed for the day. The Supreme Court in Grand Falls-Windsor is closed for the morning with an update at 11.

• Priceless Treasures will not open today due to inclement weather conditions.
• Due to the winter storm warning, DieTrac Technical Institute in Lewisporte will be CLOSED FOR THE DAY.
• L’École des Grands-Vents will be closed for the day TODAY February 14 2024, due to poor weather conditions.
• Due to poor weather conditions, Lakecrest Academy will be closed for the day.
• WorkplaceNL’s  St. John’s office is closed for in-person service today due to adverse weather. Employees are available to help, please call 1.800.563.9000. WorkplaceNL’s Grand Falls-Windsor office is closed for in-person service for the morning due to adverse weather, with an update near 11:00 a.m.
• ENT Consultants at 1 Paton Street will be closed for the day
• Due to the inclement weather, St. Bon’s will be closed for the day (Wednesday, February 14th). The Ash Wednesday Mass and SBC Hockey Program are also cancelled for today. The quilt draw, originally scheduled for today, will take place on Thursday, February 15th or the next suitable school day.
• The Ches Penney Family YMCA (including Child Care Centre) along with all YMCA Pre-K and School Age child care sites in the Avalon, Burin and Bonavista regions will be closed for the day.
• Due to today’s weather, all TD branches on the Avalon will be closed for the day.
• The Autism Society St. John’s resource centre and the Pantry Cafe will be closed for the day.
• Due to adverse weather conditions, The Rooms will be closed today.
• Due to storm conditions, there will be no Ash Wednesday Masses at The Basilica for today, Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Ashes will be distributed at the weekend Masses.
