Getting a vaccine might soon be painless, according to a University of Texas at Dallas team. Scientists have managed to create powdered vaccines that can be delivered painlessly with a puff of air. Another plus? Powdered vaccines don’t need to be refrigerated or require use of compressed gas.

Professor Jeremiah Gassensmith began experimenting with the concept as he was bored during lockdown. His tinkering turned into a real project that could help those who are afraid of needles and jabs. The treatment feels like being “hit with a Nerf bullet.” The team is now using this technology to attempt to deliver skin cancer treatments
