I feel like if you asked most people, they’d agree that time with family is important – so why don’t we put more of an effort into making it a priority? A recent study found that the average family only spends about 6 hours a week together. So, why is that number so low? The same poll shows that the number one culprit for hindering family time is work. Homework, household chores, TV, social media, and after school activities were also popular responses. When families do find the opportunity to connect, respondents say it’s usually over food. Eating together was the top response for how families spend time together, followed by watching TV and cooking. When it comes to your household, how do you measure up to the average of 6 hours a week?
