Written by Hugh Campbell on August 9, 2023
First dates aren’t easy. It’s exciting, you can be nervous, and you’re definitely overthinking things. If you’ve got a first date coming up, you’re reading the right article because a recent survey revealed what elements make for a great first date. First up, always leave them wanting more. The poll found that the ideal length is under three hours. As for what to do? Keep it simple. Some (including yours truly) think the classic dinner and a movie isn’t the right call for a first outing, but the numbers don’t lie – it received the most votes for a preferred first date. The next most popular options are going for casual drinks, a coffee date, then going to a market or having a picnic. As previously discussed, first dates can be a nervous experience, with 31% of adults saying the most uncomfortable part of going on a first date is the nerves. It might help your cause to make you and your date more comfortable. The top two ways daters calm their nerves are by sipping on a favourite drink and by choosing a familiar location. Good luck out there!
