We’ve all heard of destination weddings – maybe you’ve even had one yourself – but what if that destination isn’t on Earth? A space travel company called Space Perspective wants to host your wedding among the stars. It may seem futuristic (and it is), but several people have already joined a waitlist to take the jump in late 2024. Lovers would be put into orbit in a carbon-neutral balloon that lifts off at just 12mph, in case you were picturing a bride in full wedding dress facing g-force speeds. The SpaceBalloon has large windows for viewing the Earth below and is propelled by renewable hydrogen, making it much more sustainable than the carbon footprint of rockets. The waitlist is long and the price point isn’t any more inviting, as prices start at $125,000 a seat.
