Fans might want to pay respects to Dobby, but leaving socks might disrupt the local wildlife, according to National Trust Wales.
In the popular Harry Potter series, Dobby dies on Freshwater West Beach, and real-life fans have erected a memorial in the house elf’s honor. While the National Trust Wales will allow the memorial to remain, it urges fans to stop leaving items on his grave.
“Items like socks, trinkets, and paint chips from painted pebbles could enter the marine environment and food chain and put wildlife at risk,” the group said.
The group adds that they are delighted to have so many visitors, and asks that Potterheads only take photos and consider the surrounding environment.
