Netflix Canada is cracking down on password sharing.

The streaming service began testing tighter restrictions in an attempt to limit an individual giving access to their account to other individuals over the past year. The next round of testing will include users in Canada, Spain, Portugal and New Zealand. The same restrictions will be introduced in other countries over the next few months.

“A Netflix account is intended for one household and members can choose from a range of plans with different features,” the company says. “One of these features will allow members to set a primary location ensuring that anyone who lives in their household can use their Netflix account.”

One of the new features being introduced will allow premium and standard account holders to add extra members for $7.99 per month. Premium high-definition 4K subscribers can add two members who don’t live in their household for that same price. Basic and ad-supported plans will not be able to add more members.
