Even if it’s not your favourite genre, the rap world is so big and so tied to pop culture in general that it’s almost impossible to avoid. It didn’t always exist, though, and Billboard traces it back to 1973 when DJ Kool Herc and his turntables changed the game. So, to celebrate the genre’s 50th anniversary, they set out on a mission to name the 50 best rappers of all time.
