Robert: Jumbo Video reopens store in Ontario

For those who miss the days of physically going to a video store and taking home an actual copy of a movie, Jumbo Video has reopened one of its locations in Belleville, Ontario.

“I think now is the time. Belleville is the place because they had a video store, up to two years ago, and I’ve been right, they wanted it back,” said co-owner Nigel Hartwell.

In order to compete with streaming services like Netflix, this new Jumbo Video offers its video rentals at a monthly subscription rate of $19.99. Membership not only gets you access to over 10 000 movie titles, but opportunities to purchase movie collectibles, including memorabilia and autographed items.

And yes, you can munch on popcorn while you browse.

The Belleville store is now one of just two Jumbo Video locations in Canada. The other can be found in London, Ontario.
