Hugh: Walmart Canada Announces Subscription Service

How many monthly subscription services do you currently pay for? With so many options now available, it’s probably more than a couple. If you’re a regular Walmart shopper, you just might be adding another to your budget. Recently, Walmart Canada announced a new subscription service that some people I’m sure will hop on immediately. “Delivery Pass” is only available in Ottawa to start, but will soon be rolled out in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, with plans to launch across the country later this year. Subscribers will benefit from unlimited, free next-day delivery when ordering from the website or app at the same prices that are available in-store. You can also elect for same-day or express delivery from a nearby store at a discounted rate. So, if you find yourself heading to Walmart multiple times a week, it might make sense. It’ll cost you $8.97 a month, or $89 a year. Company representatives say while the initial launch is very exciting, there are more plans to evolve the program and add new features.
