Hugh: Panic! At The Disco Announce Band Will “Be No More”

It’s a sad day for fans of Panic! At The Disco, as frontman Brendon Urie announced the band’s breakup. The surprise statement came via the group’s Instagram page Tuesday and indicates that the band will finish their European tour before going their separate ways. Through the band’s history, Panic! has had a revolving door of band members around frontman Brendon Urie, who was the driving force behind the music, and the breakup links to Urie entering a new stage of his life. Urie is expecting his first child with his wife Sarah, and said, “the prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure. That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more.” He then goes on to thank the fans for their support over the years before concluding the statement with, “I love you. I appreciate you. Thank you for existing.”

I don’t think it would surprise anyone if multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie came back into the public eye at some point with new music, but as of now it looks like he’s taking his career off the table to just be a dad.
