Hugh: 60% of Pet Owners Would Rather Snuggle Up With Their Pet Instead of Their Partner

Look out, the dog may not be the one getting shooed off the bed next. We all love our pets and that’s not exactly news, but a new study shows exactly how much we rely on them. A whopping 90% of pet owners say they only want the best for their furry friends, acknowledging them as more than just companions. You won’t get any arguments from me, pets are family as far as I’m concerned. What may surprise you is that 60% of pet owners say that they’d rather snuggle up with their pet instead of their significant other. Gen Z seems to be particularly pet-obsessed. Another report shows that 41% of gen Zers are more likely to spend $100 on their pet rather than their partner, while 36% get more joy out of seeing their pet happy compared to their significant other.
