Snow days are almost magical in the eyes of students, an unexpected day off when you get to play in the snow, but New York City public school students will no longer be getting them. NYC Department of Education Chancellor David C. Banks told local station WNYW earlier this week that students will be expected to attend school via virtual learning on days that would otherwise be cancelled as snow days. He said, “With the new technology that we have — that’s one of the good things that came out of COVID — if a snow day comes around, we want to make sure that our kids continue to learn.” Banks also added, “So, sorry kids — no more snow days, but it’s going to be good for you!”
