Stephen: Texas woman steals alligator egg from zoo, raises reptile at home

A woman who stole an alligator egg from the Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo in Texas reportedly raised and cared for the animal for 20 years.

The animal, now eight feet long, was found by Texas Parks and Wildlife officials in a backyard. Wardens said the alligator had been kept in good condition and was “friendly” with the woman who cared for it.

The woman now faces a fine, as Texans are not allowed to keep alligators as pets.

The reptile is now back at the Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo.
