Older adults might do the hand motions to the Macarena automatically, but Gen Z is changing the dance! A TikTok posted by user @frikenarleth shows young adults getting down to the iconic song with totally different hand movements. Instead of the usual hand flipping and moving their hands to their head and their waist, the Gen Zers wave their hands left and right, then twirl their arms before making the turn. The video has 1.5 million likes, and millennials are commenting in droves. However, not every dance trend lasts forever. “I went to my lil sisters prom n nobody knew how to dance the cha cha slide or wobble or any of those songs,” one commenter said.
