Stephen: Florida man survives Hurricane Ian by hiding in refrigerator

A Fort Myers man decided to stay in his home and ignore the evacuation order…and then the water began to rise. During Hurricane Ian, George Andrad went upstairs to a neighbor’s apartment and jumped into a refrigerator once his own bottom floor apartment was flooded.

“The water just raised, raised, raised, raised, raised to my chest,” Andrad said. Fortunately, the water levels began to go down before he ran out of air. When asked, Andrad said he would definitely evacuate next time. “I ain’t staying here,” he said.
