Hugh: Woman Sues Kraft Over How Long it Takes to Make Velveeta Microwave Mac & Cheese

A woman in Florida has filed a $5 million class action lawsuit claiming that Velveeta Shells & Cheese takes longer than 3 and a half minutes to prepare. The complaint accuses the manufacturer of the microwavable product of producing “false and misleading” instructions about the length of time it takes to actually prepare the pasta. Her lawyers are arguing that in addition to microwaving the mac and cheese, the amount of time it takes to rip off the lid and powdered sauce, add in water, and stir the contents of the single-serve cup don’t add up the 3 and a half minutes the label promises hungry buyers. Kraft Heinz Foods Company called the false advertising claims made against them “frivolous.”
