Hugh: When at a Restaurant With Your Partner, Do You Ever Order the Same Dish? 41% of People Say They Won’t Do it

Sometimes couples have similar taste in food, and sometimes they couldn’t be more different. When it comes to yourself, have you ever been out at a restaurant with your partner and ended up ordering the exact same thing? Personally, it happens to me a lot. Not because we come in with a plan to order the same dish, but because we have very similar preferences and our eyes tend to land on the same menu item. It turns out that while most (51%) people say they’ve done it at least once, a sizeable 41% of the population say they don’t ever do it for any reason, according to a new survey. One major reason people do order the same dish as the other person at the table is they can’t decide what they want. 40% say they’ve just copied their date’s order if they weren’t sure what to get. On the other hand, a large number of respondents (58%) say they take the exact opposite approach and intentionally order something different than their dining partner so they can try each other’s dish.
