Hugh: Treating Yourself When You’re Busy and Stressed is When it’s Most Beneficial

The holidays can be a hectic time of year. There’s a lot to do and a lot to prepare for. So the next time you’re feeling the pressure, maybe indulge in a little something for yourself. Researchers have found that when people are anxious about time and money, they are the least likely to treat themselves because they think they’ll be too distracted to enjoy the experience. I think that reasoning makes sense to most people, but there’s the problem. The research also found that the aforementioned line of thinking is counterproductive to wellness, since it’s when we’re stressed that we can benefit most from indulging ourselves.
