Would you believe me if I told you less than half of Generation Z admits to using Facebook? Well, according to a recent survey, it’s true. The survey asked people aged 13 to 25 about their online habits and it’s probably no surprise that they spend much more time online than older generations. For example, 38% of Gen Zers reported spending more than four hours a day on social media, compared to just 18% of the population as a whole. If you’re wondering what they’re doing with all that time staring at screens, the answer just might be watching YouTube videos. YouTube is the platform drawing more eyes than any other, with 88% of Gen Zers saying they use it regularly. Instagram sits firmly in second with 76%, followed by TikTok at 68% and Snapchat with 67% of Gen Z saying they use it. After those four, we see a drop off. Facebook claims the fifth place, but less than half of Gen Z (49%) admits to using it, followed closely by Twitter at 47%. Other platforms like Discord (35%), Reddit (30%), and Twitch (24%) were also considered, but fell far short of the giants of social media.
