A new study by Argos found that kids say they’re bored once a day, or seven times a week. One in six parents say their kids don’t have the attention spans to play the same games they used to enjoy as kids.
It’s a problem many parents solve by giving their child a phone or tablet. But are there other ways to help kids use their imaginations instead?
Going outside to play, creating a jar of activities they can pull ideas from, and playing with your child yourself are some ways to beat boredom.
“Play comes in so many forms, so pick something that resonates with you as that will be much easier for you to engage in,” Dr. Elizabeth Kilbey said. “Stop worrying – your kids will be thrilled with whatever you do.”
