This morning on OZ Mornings, Stephen, Hugh, and Shannell posed quite the question to OZFM listeners: are baymen or townies worse drivers? This generations old divide between the population of Newfoundland, those from outside the overpass and those from “in town”, has resulted in countless debates, but this one is more heated than most, seeming to become more spicy since the introduction of roundabouts in major thoroughfares in the St. John’s Metro region.
OZFM listeners had their say @947OZFM on social media. Hilary wrote “baymen going to Costco” while Scott chimed in “I’ve driven in a lot of places but driving on the TCH in Newfoundland is the absolute worst.” Several commenters also opined that the fish-out-of-water rule applies and that those from town are menaces around the bay and vice-versa.
