Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker could be returning in an all-singing, all-dancing musical sequel, and Lady Gaga may be joining the cast. The Hollywood Reporter detailed the latest on the proposed sequel from Todd Phillips, director of the 2019 hit that nabbed Phoenix the Oscar for Best Actor, saying that the script has been presented to Warner Bros. Studios. Phillips also revealed the working title of the film, Joker: Folie à deux. But perhaps the biggest news of all is that Lady Gaga is in reportedly in talks to join the cast as Joker’s sidekick/love interest Harley Quinn. It is worth noting that this would be a different version of the character that has been most recently been portrayed by Margot Robbie in recent Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey movies. Many of these details are still in the pre-production report phases but if they prove to be true, the Joker sequel could live up to and maybe surpass the mark of $1.07 Billion in box office the first movie made.
