Robert: Health Canada approves Moderna COVID vaccine for kids under 5

Another milestone in the fight against COVID-19 occurred today as Health Canada gave the thumbs up to Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for infants and preschoolers, marking the first vaccine to be approved for children that young.

The approval means the Moderna vaccine can be administered to children between the ages of six months and five years. The dosage will be 1/4 of the size of that approved for adults and will be given in two dose, four weeks apart.

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization is expected to provide further advice and recommendations later today.
