Hugh: The Classic Zellers Restaurant is Joining the Brand’s Comeback…as a Food Truck

We all know that nostalgia sells, and while many Canadians have been getting excited about the return of Zellers, some were wondering if the brand’s famous restaurant would join the comeback. Finally, we have an answer. It’s been known for a while now that Hudson’s Bay Co. is reviving the retail outlet with sections of certain The Bay department stores across Canada being converted to retro-themed Zellers shops. With limited floor space, it’s just not practical to install the diner-style restaurants that used to be in Zellers locations, but there is one way for the comeback to happen – a food truck. Hudson’s Bay Co. has announced that select “fan favourite” food items would be available at food trucks parked outside stores, with dates and exact locations to be named at a later date. One thing we do know is that the Zeller’s food truck menu will have the flagship Big Z Burger, a hot chicken sandwich, chicken fingers, fries and gravy, and grilled cheese. Road trip?
