Hugh: Tely 10 Road Race Postponed Due to Heat

Earlier today, the heat warnings that many parts of central and northeastern Newfoundland have been seeing were expanded to the Avalon Peninsula north, including the St. John’s metro area. With high temperatures and an even higher humidex come certain challenges, and those behind the Tely 10 Mile Road Race have made the decision to postpone the annual event. No new date has been selected as of yet, with organizers saying that they will consult with relevant groups and have an announcement in the coming days. Organizers are also asking participants who have not yet picked up their race kit to do so today between 2 and 5PM at the Remax Centre on Mayor Avenue in St. John’s.
