Calling all Kyles! The City of Kyle, Texas plans on celebrating its name this year with a Gathering of Kyles. That’s right, if your name is Kyle, they want you. The celebrations, which will be held May 19-21 at Lake Kyle Park. Officials are hoping that at least 2,326 Kyles will attend so that they can set the Guinness World Record for the largest same-name gathering. The current record was set by 2,325 people named Ivan who got together in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2017. A note from City of Kyle Special Events Manager Claudia Rocha reads, “In order to break this record, we’re calling for any and all Kyles. We need tall Kyles, short Kyles, young Kyles and old Kyles to get close to the record set five years ago.” If thousands of Kyles do descend on the planned Kyle Fair, it would be a pretty impressive feat considering the City has a population of only a little over 50,000 according to the most recent census.
