Join the Newfoundland and Labrador Historical Society from November 7 to 9 for three days of public forums on Women and Gender in Newfoundland and Labrador History. Inspired by the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in NL, Up She Rises! constitutes a public discussion about women and gender in NL history.
Inspired by the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in NL, Up She Rises! will constitute a public discussion about women and gender in NL history. It will involve academics, researchers, activists, writers, and poets who have studied and written about women and gender in NL history.
Topics to be covered include the suffrage movement; gender and home production; women, spirituality, and community; politics and leadership; historical life-narratives; education and gender; women’s and family health and welfare; gender and community history; second-wave feminism.
