Amelia was diagnosed with Leukemia at only 2 1/2 years old in 2018. After 803 days of treatment, she finally finished her treatment days before her 5th birthday. Recently, after 5 years cancer free, she rang the bell to celebrate her new status as cured of Leukemia! Amelia is now a happy & healthy 10 year old who enjoys swimming, basketball, singing, and her pets.
Every 17 minutes in Canada, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer which can affect people of all ages. Survival rates depend on the type of blood cancer a person is diagnosed with and overall blood cancers are the third leading cause of cancer-related death in Canada.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada is the largest registered charity supporting the blood cancer community in Canada. Light the Night is a team based event held across Canada to raise awareness and funds for the Society and provide hope and community for those affected by all blood cancers.
