Queer Momentum’s Trans Canada Tour is a 45-event national tour led by Fae Johnstone and Victoria Bucholtz, but each stop is meant to be rooted in the local context. It will be in Clarenville and St. John’s from June 2nd to 5th with the following events:
- Ask a Trans Person Anything – A candid, no-questions-off-limits public conversation where attendees can ask tough questions about trans issues and hear directly from two of Canada’s leading trans activists.
- Clarenville – June 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Clarenville Inn
- St. John’s – June 5th from 5 to 7pm at the Bella Vista.
- Politics with a Drag Queen – A high-energy night of drag, comedy, political commentary, and calls to action that uses queer joy to build community power and support local organizing.
- Clarenville – June 2nd, 8 to 11:30 pm at the Clarenville Inn
- St. John’s – June 5th, 9 to 11pm at the Bella Vista
- Queer Movement Townhall: Building Queer Power – A community gathering that brings together queer and trans organizers, allies, and local leaders to rebuild hope, strengthen connections, and plan for collective action.
- St. John’s – June 3rd, 5:30 to 7:30 at the Alt Hotel
The broader story here is that trans issues have become increasingly politicized across Canada, and instead of staying online or speaking only to existing supporters, we are taking this conversation directly into communities. These stops are one piece of that larger national effort, but it is also a chance to look at what these debates, pressures, and organizing efforts actually look like on the ground in communities across the country.
