Stephen: Website pairs “platonic parents”, love optional
Let’s say you’re a woman in your mid-thirties who wants to have kids–soon. Dating sites can be a crapshoot when it comes to finding men with similar objectives, and a sperm donor’s too impersonal. Enter PollenTree.com and Modamily, two websites with a shared objective of pairing up potential platonic parents who want to raise children together without the hassle of romance. The Wall Street Journal reports that Jenica Andersen is 17 weeks pregnant with Stephan DuVal’s baby, which was conceived intravenously after they hooked up on PollenTree. But as the two got to know each other better, something unexpected happened: They fell in love. Now they’re trying to sort out whether they’d like to form a more traditional family than they originally envisioned.
