Stephen: Two brothers make millions selling ugly Christmas sweaters
Fred and Mark Hajjar are really raking it in with their ugly Christmas sweater website, according to CNN. On Wednesday, the company sold out of 1,000 Popeyes chicken sandwich sweaters that were sold at $45 each. “We started selling them today online and they sold out by late afternoon,” said Fred Hajjar. Popeye’s loved the idea and let them use their brand name for free, he said. And that’s just one sweater; the company has ties to nine other bands, including Progressive Insurance for use of their Flo character and General Mills for the Pillsbury dough boy. The site also sells custom sweaters, 3D sweaters, Trump sweaters and sweaters with a pump in the sleeve. The Hajjar brothers started the business with $5,000 of their own cash. This year, they’re planning to do about $6 million in sales.
