Stephen: Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are some of the most decorated skaters ever
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir have joined the club of most-decorated figure skaters after helping Team Canada win gold with their free dance performance. On Monday, the duo put on a memorable show to a mashup of Moulin Rouge songs–including the iconic “Roxanne” and “Come What May” sung by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman. In previous competitions, Moir and Virtue had used choreography which garnered attention for its raunchy nature. They decided to scrap the suggestive move–which consisted of Virtue wrapping her legs around Moir’s neck–for their performance in Pyeongchang. Virtue and Moir’s team gold brings their Olympic medal count up to four, tying with Sweden’s Gillis Grafstrom (who skated in the ’20s and ‘30s) and Yevgeny Plushenko of Russia.
