Stephen: RCMP and RNC catch speeder doing over 160 km/h
A joint effort from the RNC and RCMP Traffic Services East caught a driver on the TCH near Thomas Pond travelling at excessive speeds on Wednesday, October 23rd. The 18 year old driver from Harbour Grace was clocked doing 163 km/h in a 100 zone by a radar unit. He was charged under the Highway Traffic Act and had his license suspended for seven days. His vehicle was impounded for three days. The RCMP wishes to remind motorists of the dangers of traveling at excessive speeds, especially at night when visibility is reduced.
