Stephen: Pfizer announces 90% success rate for Coronavirus vaccine
A practical vaccine for COVID-19 may not be ready for widespread use for months, but Pfizer announced progress on their vaccine trials on Monday. The pharmaceutical giant, along with Bio N Tech SE announced its vaccine is 90 percent effective in stopping coronavirus infection. According to Bloomberg, the study was carried out on tens of thousands of volunteers. A top official at Pfizer said, “This is about the best the news could possibly be for the world and for the United States and for public health.” Any vaccine still needs federal approval for emergency authorization. Pfizer is hoping further positive data will allow them to submit the vaccine for consideration later this month.
