Stephen: Pacific Rim sequel ends Black Panther’s box office reign

Pacific Rim Uprising claimed the #1 spot at the box office this weekend, ending Black Panther’s five-week run in the spot by debuting to $28 million. Despite dropping to second place, Black Panther added $16.65 million to become the highest grossing superhero film of all-time–surpassing The Avengers with a domestic cume that now totals $630.9 million. Meanwhile, I Can Only Imagine landed in third place with $13.8 million and animated flick Sherlock Gnomes debuted at #4 by earning $10.6 million. Tomb Raider rounded out the top five with $10.4 million.
