Stephen: Microsoft warns of potential huge Windows 10 security breach
Microsoft warned users of their Windows 10 operating system to run the latest security patch on their computers “immediately,” CNN reports. The company said they’ve detected two “critical” vulnerabilities in the operating system, and that affected computers could spread viruses and malware without action on the computer user’s part. Simon Pope, Microsoft’s director of Incident Response, wrote in a blog post Tuesday that, “It is important that affected systems are patched as quickly as possible because of the elevated risks associated with wormable vulnerabilities like these, and downloads for these can be found in the Microsoft Security Update Guide.” Pope also said “potentially hundreds of millions” of computers could be vulnerable. An estimated 800 million devices run Windows 10, making it the most popular operating system in the world.
