Stephen: Man goes viral after sharing partner’s “first bite” policy

This seems like something most people wouldn’t stand for. A man took to Reddit recently and posted about how he’s been living with his partner for the past six months, and though they “overall” have a “great relationship” except when it comes to food. He explains, “Since I do shift work I’m generally off the clock at around 11 A.M. Then, being too tired to cook, I’ll hit up a burger joint for a cheeseburger and some fries. [But when I get home] my girlfriend always wants to have exactly one bite, exclusively the first bite, of every item I order.” He adds that he’s tried to fix the issue “by contacting her on my way to the restaurant asking if she wanted something,” yet her answer is always “no.” He says he’s also asked her if he can “just leave a little at the end. No, she wants the first bite.”

He also says that if he buys her her own food she will just bite each item once and then throw the rest away if he won’t eat it. As a result he’s taken to eating in his car and “discretely disposing of the wrappers,” but she soon found out and is now “furious” at him for “lying.” His post got over 14,000 upvotes, and many commenters said he shouldn’t lie, and instead should draw a hard line against sharing his food, and others noted the girlfriend’s behavior “smacks of territory marking.”
