Stephen: Liam Gallagher hints that Oasis could be reuniting
Liam Gallagher announced to his fans on Twitter that he plans to quit his solo career after three albums, and claimed that his brother Noel, who he’s feuded with for years, has “begged him” to reform Oasis, the Irish Times reports. “I intend to retire as solo artist after album no3 as I have just had a call from my brother begging me to start oasis again in 2022 if you believe in life after love c’mon you know,” he wrote. Gallagher released his third solo album Why Me? Why Not, and it topped the U.K. charts following its September 20, 2019 release. The album was also the biggest selling vinyl of the year.
Some of Gallagher’s fans began to question whether Liam was being strait with them, understandable considering the history between the brothers. But Noel’s comments in December offer a glimmer of hope: he said in an interview that they could bury the hatchet for the sake of their mother. “Our family has never been close. I don’t know one person, one single person, in my life who is living in the perfect family. Not one,” he told the The Sunday Times, adding, “reconciliation is a good thing.”
