Stephen: Austrian man fined for farting at police

A man in Vienna, Austria, was fined 500 Euros for farting loudly in front of police during an incident on June 5, according to reports. The city police department defended the fine on Tuesday, saying that the man had “offended public decency” with his blast. They also said on Twitter that he had behaved “provocatively and uncooperatively” with police prior to the offending wind, saying he got up from a park bench, and “let go a massive intestinal wind apparently with full intent.” Police also said, “and our colleagues don’t like to be farted at so much.” The fine can be appealed.
