Robert: Zellers is making a comeback in 2023

A decade after Zellers closed its doors, it looks as though they may be opening up again.

Hudson’s Bay Co., owners of the Zellers brand, say the discount department store will debut a new e-commerce website in early 2023, with plans to expand to a sort of, kind of, physical store within select Hudson’s Bay department stores across Canada.

It is said the “new” Zellers will offer “a digital-first shopping journey that taps into the nostalgia of the brand.”

Last year, HBC launched pop-up “Zellers” shops inside Hudson’s Bay department stores in Burlington, Ontario, and Anjou, Quebec to much fanfare from nostalgic consumers.
