Robert: Woman gets washed out to sea while posing on piece of iceberg

A grandma from Texas had to be rescued after she was washed out to sea atop a piece of ice.

Judith Streng was on vacation in Iceland when she spotted a piece of iceberg that had washed up on a beach in Jorkulsarlon.

“It was shaped like an easy place to sit. You can tell by looking at the shape of it, and I thought well it looks like fun,” Streng says. “When I got on it, it started to totter and a wave was coming in. A very large wave came in and kind of made the throne kind of rock, and I could tell that I was slipping off.”

As Streng started to float away, all her son could do was watch. Luckily, a man was boating nearby and was able to snatch up the woman.

Despite the danger of the situation, Streng says she has no regrets. “I thought it [would] be quite fun. You know I always wanted to be queen. I mean, come on, that was my chance.”
