Robert: Woman buys winning lotto ticket with stolen credit card, promptly gets arrested
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary have announced they have made an arrest in connection with a report of a stolen credit card.
On January 23rd, the RNC received a report from a man who had his wallet stolen. Soon after, it was discovered that one of his credit cards had been used to purchase a lotto ticket. The ticket ended up being a the winner of a large amount of money, and when the purchaser came forward to collect their prize, police officers were waiting for them.
A 33-year old woman now faces charges of 2 counts of Possessing A Stolen Credit Card and 5 counts of Fraud Under $5000.
She did not receive the winnings.
