Robert: Third grader pays off lunch debt for his class
A third grader in California proves that the spirit of giving is alive and well.
Ryan Kirkpatrick wasn’t content with some of his classmates not being able to afford to eat lunch at school, so the 9 year old told his mom he wanted to do something about it.
“What do you want to do?” Ryan’s mom Kylie asked him.
“I guess I can pay for it,” he replied.
Kylie asked West Park Elementary School for the total amount Ryan’s class owed on their lunch program debt. Ryan then saved up his allowance until he had enough to pay off the $74.50 bill.
Ryan insists he wasn’t looking for any sort of special attention for his good deed. “I want them to realize people actually think about them because you’re not just bragging about stuff. I want them to feel happy someone cares about them.”
