Robert: The name “Karen” is dying out

Could we see the name ‘Karen’ go extinct?

The name, which has associated with an overly demanding or entitled middle-aged white woman, is quickly beginning to vanish as babynames.com is reporting a 75% decrease in the name’s popularity over the last decade.

While the name has seen a large increase in searches, expectant parents have not been adding the name to their list if potential names.

‘Karen’ is originally a Danish form of the name Katherine, meaning pure. The name was popular from 1938 to 1968, but it’s seen a steep decline in recent years.
