Robert: “Schitt’s Creek” sweeps Emmy comedy categories

Canada shined last night as Schitt’s Creek winning an Emmy for every single comedy category they were nominated for.

Series stars Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy picked up “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series” respectively, while Annie Murray and Daniel Levy also won “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series”.

The show also walked away with “Outstanding Comedy Series”, a first for a Canadian TV show, beating out Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

“We’re all just walking around in a daze,” Daniel Levy said. “It’s absolutely unbelievable, and I am thrilled to have represented Canada tonight.”

Rounding out the night, Schitt’s Creek won Emmy’s for “Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series”.
