Robert: Province spent over 400 million on the lottery last year
Newfoundland and Labrador dies for a bit of the lottery.
According to Atlantic Lottery, residents of this province spent $405 000 000 on the chance to win big bucks last year, the most of any other province in Atlantic Canada. In total, AL exceeded it’s projected target by $1.8 million, reporting profits of $419.2 million for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
Of that figure, nearly $134 000 000 was returned to Newfoundland and Labrador, almost $5 million less than forecasted.
