Robert: Norwegian company offering “paw-ternity” leave

A pet supply company in Norway is offering its employees paid time off in order to bond with their new pets. Musti Group, one of the largest pet supply companies in the Nordic countries, began offerin three paid days off whenever they acquire a new puppy or kitten. They’re calling it “pawternity leave.”

“Depending on the needs of each pet, the first days spent together can be rather intense, and sleepless nights are more than familiar to recent pet parents,” says Musti Group CEO David Rönnberg. “A baby animal requires constant attention and unconditional love. Paying attention to a pet’s needs and spending time with them supports their learning, builds trust and helps prevent behavioral disorders in the future.”
