Robert: Family told to take down Christmas decorations because it’s “too early”

It’s a debate that rages on every year, when is it appropriate to begin celebrating Christmas?

Claudia and Nick Simonis decided to begin decorating for the holiday season on November 1. Three days later, the couple received a letter from their homeowners association instructing them to take down the decorations until “closer to the holiday”.

“I felt shocked and angered,” Nick Simonis says. “The HOA has so much time on their hands.”

“We got a lot of support from our neighbors,” Claudia Simonis added. “Every single one of them supported us by putting up their decorations and posting messages.” Later on, other neighbors put up decorations in support.

The couple says they plan to put up Christmas lights this weekend and to continue decorating their house regardless.
